VPLEX Metro Reference

Is there anyone out in the community who would be willing to speak with me about their experience with VPLEX?  I've been asking my local sales team and reseller for a customer reference for a few months, and they're having trouble tracking down anyone who can/will speak to us.

I will also say this, I manage/maintain several VPLEX arrays (VPLEX Local and Metro) with several Recoverpoint clusters as well.  If you can let me know who your EMC sales person is I can get our sales person to contact yours and setup a reference call with us.  We have an enterprise environment so between me and the other 2 guys on our team (combined 35+ years experience) we can definitely get all of your questions answered.  We have had VPLEX for going on 3 years now so we have seen pretty much everything you would possibly encounter.

What exactly are you looking for?  If it's about overall experience, I would say it has been great. If you have the need for non-disruptive data mobility in your environment then this is the way to go.  Very straight forward and there are a lot of different ways it can be used.

We've got a long list of questions about a variety of things like:

Performance implications for VPLEX Metro.

Management experience for the Storage Administrator/Engineer.

What are the pros and cons of encapsulating LUNs from the storage array in a pass-thru mode through the VPLEX vs. presenting dozens or hundreds of LUNs from the array to the VPLEX and then carving them up on the VPLEX for presentation to the host.

Pros and cons of using RecoverPoint in addition to VPLEX.

One-to-many configurations of VPLEX Metro.  Is it even possible?

Host OS interaction with VPLEX?  Any special parameters, HBA firmware settings, registry hacks, etc...

Third-party storage behind VPLEX?

We're just looking to do our due diligence and speak to someone about their experience with the product.  Someone who isn't trying to make a sale.

I can say this. There are a lot of questions and I would be happy to speak to most, if not all, of the questions you have. If you have a EMC sales team I am sure we could work out a phone call.
