VPLEX director commission command

Hello all,

I was currently testing the decommission and commission commands on a single-engine VPLEX metro system running GeoSynchrony 5.5 when I noticed that after

decommissioning the director and then commissioning it back again using the following commands:

1. VPlexcli:/> director decommission --director director-1-1-A

2. VPlexcli:/> director commission --director director-1-1-A --applycluster-settings

2.

The director gets back up and becomes part of the cluster but the VPLEX front-end ports get removed from the storage view resulting

in the host not being able to see the LUNs.

My question is: Shouldn't the -applycluster-settings flag get the ports back to the storage view or is this working as designed?

Also, when testing a director reboot scenario, is it better to use director shutdown then director commission rather than using decommission and commission?

Thank you a lot for your help!
