VPlex Acceptance Testing on Metro Cluster

We are currently performing acceptance testing on our VPlex Metro Cluster and have run into an issue.  We disabled the ethernet connection on the management server at site 2 (thus breaking the VPN connection between the two clusters) with the expectation that we can still manage this cluster from site 1, however this is not the case.  Has anyone else ran into this type of problem?  Is there a way to manage site 2 from site 1?  My assumption is there is a way to do this since the management servers are not in a redundant setup (2 physical management servers) for each cluster.

Thank you in advance!

Hi,

All of the remote director management needs to go through the remote management station.  So yes, if you were to disable cluster-2 VPN connection you cannot manage the cluster-2 directors from cluster-1.

I would say no, there's no supported way to manage cluster 2 if cluster 2's management server is inaccessible.

Seems to me that dual management servers would be a pretty popular option, if it were offered. Or at least support for NIC teaming and redundant power supplies.
