SQL Always On on VPLEX SQL FI Cluster?

Hello,

We're proposing VPLEX for a customer who currently has:

Site 1: Local 2-node SQL 2012 SP1 Cluster for DB A.

Passive node is also reporting server for DB B (site 2) via SQL Always On over IP.

Site 2: Local 2-node SQL cluster for DB B.

Passive node is also reporting server for DB A, with asynchronous replication via SQL Always On over IP.

+/- 10km distance between the sites. IP and FC connectivity.

We want to stretch the local cluster over the two sites, and also still keep reporting on the passive nodes? See attached image for a graphical representation.
Does any of you know if this is a validated Microsoft design?
Is an alternative with Production DB A on site 1 and Reporting DB for DB A on site 2 (so Always On replica to passive node in the same failover cluster?)

Thanks in advance,

Francis
