Split Metro Mirror to test DR side
Is it possible to stop replication between two distributed volumes so that a DR test can be performed on the remote side without taking down the primary side? I'm looking for functionality similar to SRDF split/resume and I don't have the option of making a clone or snapshot of the remote side.

Assumes you are using CGs And 1 to 1 encapsulation.
On the M2 side unmask the lun from VPlex BE ports (be mindful of your detach rules). This will cause VPlex to see an error. The Virtual Vol. associated with the DD will continue on M1 side (after delay value, 5 sec. By default). Log vol on M1 side will bitmap changes. Mask Physical (M2) to test server. When done unmask physical from server, re-mask to VPlex. Execute resurrect lun. Sync M2 ( resume at loser).
You could also do a device detach-mirror. Downside is a full re-sync would occur when you re-attach.
