Practice test question: How to cable VS2

Hello,

This is a question from the practice test:

plex_cabling.png

I would say that both "Swap port 00 with port 01 of module B0-FE" and "Swap port 00 with port 01 of module A0-FE" are correct, however only one answer is allowed. How's that?

Fredh - I know as per best practices and recommendations Even ports should connect to Even fabric and Odd ports should connect to Odd fabric.

Even I have a same question that "KULT" has , from the diagram only A1 and B1 Modules are properly connected (even-->even, odd--->odd).

For me options A,C,D seems correct however not have the power to keep multiple options.

swapping ports on the respective options(A,C,D) for me makes sense to abide EMC best practice.

correct me if I am (totally)wrong.

nalluri,

options A and D are the correct options, not A,C,D.

Yes A and D are the correct answer.

in the best practices life :

- all 00 and 02 ports must be on Fabric A

- all 01 and 03 ports must be on another Fabric so the B.

in the real life, answer C must be correct ;-)

Vplex verify each port by pair so 00 and 01 must be on two different fabric.

If you use port 02 and 03, he verify that this two ports are also on another fabric.

So minimum is two FE, two BE, two WAN port so totally 6 ports by Director (12 by engine).

In real life, if you invert the fabric, no possibility for vplex to verify that a fabric is the first and the other is the second...

Hi Fred - are you able to give me the page where it says you only need to move 1 port.

I have opened another conversation that you might not have seen

If you were to invert the fabric just to mark C as the correct answer, you would have to change the cabling for all the ports on modules B1-BE and A1-BE

You need to move 2 ports, not 1. i.e you need to swap ports 00 and 01 on modules A0-FE and B0-FE. Because this question has 2 correct answers, someone's opened this thread.
