Cannot connect to VPLEX using Linux 2.6 management server

Trying to connect to vplex using linux 2.6 management server. I am getting the following error:

Request exec channel error: connection lost.

The command I am running is

ssh service@

Anything I am doing wrong?

I am unable to connect to the management server using ssh. When I try to do that from my unix management server, it gives me disconnected reason 10.

Hi APethe,

I recommend putting the output of "ssh -v" in this thread (scrubbing your IP addresses or any other info you don't wish to share.)

Or open up a SR with EMC Support.

Reason 10 appears to be "connection lost" so I'd verify the path between your host and the VPLEX management station.

I'm with Gary on this one. Local network type issue.

Hmm, not really much extra info here...  Can you ping the management station?

Can you try it from another host?

Do you have any kind of firewall settings on your host preventing connectivity?

Thanks,

Gary

One last thought... Check ssh settings for version 2 support.

  • i am using ssh v2.
  • the server can ping the vplex management server.
  • within the management subnet, no traffic is firewalled.

i will try it from another host later today and update.

Thanks a lot for your help guys.
