My Dell vostro 3400 usb type C can not plug monitor
Hi,
I just purchase laptop Dell Vostro 3400 and I want to connect multiple monitor. One monitor connect to HDMI port which work properly but the second monitor connect to usb type c by usb-c to HDMI cable. My laptop can not connect to the second monitor and when I connect it to my laptop, there is a dialog window show in the bottom right of the screen.
I try to test my usb-c to HDMI cable to other laptop and it work correctly. I also update windows 10 to latest version and update my driver from the dell support website but it still get the same error. Note: my monitor don't have DisplayPort which I'm not sure this is the root cause or not. I want to ensure if I have to purchase monitor having DisplayPort, it will solve this issue.
Is there any recommend please help.
Thank you

@bomproapp Video output support is an optional feature of USB-C ports, and therefore not all systems with USB-C ports support it. Some USB-C ports only support USB data. The same goes for the ability to charge a system via USB-C — also optional and therefore also not always implemented. Looking over the Setup and Specifications document for this system, there is no indication that it supports video output over USB-C. So that is the likely cause of your issue, and in that case a DisplayPort display will not solve anything.
