dell vostro 7620 - ram upgrade
Hii!
I would like to upgrade dell vostro 7620 and change 8GB ram with 16GB ram. (so that then I would have 24GB ram all together). I changed with original ram which was boight at Dell shop, but laptop wont turn on with it. What could go wrong here? Ram is the same just bigger capacity. I think it should be supported.

Does the system boot properly if only the 16GB RAM module is installed? If not then try the following procedure for clearing the CMOS settings:
1. Remove the base cover.
2. Ensure that the battery cable has been disconnected from the system board.
3. Wait for one minute. I would wait for at least 1 minute or slightly longer.
4. Ensure that the battery cable has been reconnected to the system board.

Hi!
Thank you for your reply. Yes the system boot normally if the original 8GB ram is installed, which then combines with an intergrated (not removal) 8GB ram and makes it 16GB ram. But if I change this removable 8GB ram stick with 16GB ram stick (same RAM type and frequency) then the system won´t boot.
Any idea why could that be so? Maybe the RAM doesn not work properly and should send it back on waranty?
