Vostro 230 cpu cooler

This is an FYI for anyone who is still using an old Vostro 230 with an LGA 775/771 CPU and stock G41 motherboard. I just wanted to share my experience with a cooler that I purchased to have a quieter and cooler computer for web surfing and document creation. I just purchased a Jonsbo CR1400 92mm cooler and it bolted right into the stock CPU backplate with no modification and no issues whatsoever. The 4 pin power for the fan also did not create a boot issue like some I have seen with various dells. This cooler is a plug and play product and was a breeze to install. I previously modified my socket to accept an Intel Xeon X5460 3.16Ghz Quad-Core with a 120W TDP and flashed a modded BIOS with the Xeon micro codes. So, I needed a better cooler. I was also able to get it to accept 2x4gb ddr3 low density Crucial modules. It has a 250GB Samsung 860 EVO SSD boot drive, 250GB Seagate mechanical drive, and a Sapphire R7-370 4GB graphics card. I also installed a new EVGA 80 Plus 600W PSU.  I am typing from it right now. I looked for a definitive answer as to what specific cooler would work with the stock CPU backplate, but was never satisfied with any of the answers given on lots of different sites. I figured if I am doing this, then somebody else might benefit from my experience. I created this account solely to share this with others that might be interested in doing the same. I hope this helps someone out there wondering.

This is the Vostro 230 Mini Tower not the slim one. See the image below

Re: Jonsbo CR1400 92mm cooler and it bolted right into the stock CPU backplate with no modification and no issues whatsoever.

this suggests the cooler uses same M3 thread backplate as Dell stock backplate.
