Vostro 200, solid amber light, Windows 8.1

Yesterday I was working on my computer (which is fairly old) and suddenly it turned off. It has happened two times. After the first time I just held the power button for 60 seconds and it turned on. At night it happened again, this time the same method didn't work. I've read about most solutions too but none of them worked either. (removing the memory modules, replacing the cell battery, etc)

The motherboard is getting power (orange light) but it doesn't beep. When I try to power on the computer, the fans start spinning but immediately stop again.

So, which part of the computer should I replace? It worked completely fine before and it was also very fast. It was in good shape for an old computer...

Or should I just get a completely new computer?

DP , due to slow , POST button. (or fails) then recovers,  slow servers, it's free no beef me.

wow I edited this post and both are gone to above, wow, that is odd.

since the OP does not want to do simple tests.

do the long power reset yet,  posted here 100000 times. (all OEM PCs sites same answer)

  1. ac  cord pulled.
  2. push power button 10 seconds.
  3. release power button,.
  4. put back cord AC
  5. test PC.

in extreme cases , just after step 1 Above pull coin cell. out. put back coin before step4;

this will unlatch ESD event chips, or end sleep mode etc the hard way.(well not that hard)

if the unstated monitor is bad or plugged in to the wrong VGA port, the new PC fails too...

just saying.
