black screen bios.cant set boot order to usb in orrder to boot external

I have a black screen whenever trying to set boot order. I have tried installing updates so have the latest now problem still black screen. Tried in recovery menu on windows 11 to restart for advance options but still get black screen when restarting. Does anyone know how i can resolve please as i need to access an older drive to load music production and see if that works on this Pc as I'm having a kind off cpu overload on windows 11\ on this pc I got recently.
