Can DELL EMC arrays run any open source OSes?

I am decommissioning one-year-old Unity storage consisting of 880F DPEs and all SSD drives. The licensing and support is not transferrable, which makes their only use spare parts, really. More out of curiosity than anything, but does anyone know if is there any way to put these to use with any of the open source storage solutions like FreeNAS, OpenFiler, etc?

I know under the hood the controllers are somewhat akin to Intel PCs/servers, with Dell commodity hardware in use, which made me think this might be possible.

Any ideas?
