Virus problems

I recently downloaded a program I thought was safe and when I extracted it to winrar my Trend Micro PC-cillin said it contained viruses.  I deleted the programs as instructed, but I am having some serious issues with my computer.  The first problem is that when I try to open internet explorer i get a box that pops up and says
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library.
 Runtime Error!
 Program: C:\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
 R6025
-pure virtual function call

If I click ok or close the box IE shuts down.  The internet page never load and just gets a screen that says Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.  This happens every time I try to connect.

I can't connect to the internet to update any antivirus software or to run hijackthis.
The other problem that happened is that when I started up my computer it said I am running a counterfeit version of windows.  It only happened twice and hasn't since.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Please post a log on the HijackThis Forum where someone can review it and help you.
HJT Forum

Click HERE to download a self-extractable version of HijackThis.
  • Double click on hijackthis.exe to extract hijackthis to folder c:\hijackthis.
  • It will extract it to that folder and open the folder for you.
  • It will also create a shortcut on your desktop to HijackThis.

  • It will scan and the log should open in notepad.Click on "Edit > Select
  • All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the
  • log.
Do not have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

thanks,

Download it to a good system to a disc.

Then execute it on the infected system, from the disc and post the log on the good system.

How can I get this onto my infected computer?  Can I burn a copy on another computer and then install it or does it have to be direct onto the infected computer?
