Can't explain that.
I check with Hostsman every few days, and I certainly already had the March 30 file installed.
Last night it said a new version was available (it doesn't specify the date of the new file), and I installed it. Since Hostsman has proved reliable in the past, I didn''t bother to double-check the version. Sorry about that, folks.
What's interesting is that Hostsman now shows an MVPS Hosts file dated 24/04/2011 as installed.
Very odd. Perhaps a new version was released on the 24th, and they forgot to update the website?

I have received independent confirmation from 2 users that both HostsMan and HostExpert (another manager) downloaded a Hosts File update released April 24 for MVPS Hosts File.

My Hosts Editor show MVPS Hosts http://msmvps.com/blogs/hostsnews/archive/2011/03/30/1790923.aspx current to March 30. Keeping in mind, the file is updated every 4 to 6 weeks, that would put the next "assumed" update at May 10 or so. I have not read elsewhere that the file has been updated.

Neither have I, siljaline.
My current Hosts File (the one I installed on April 27 using HostsMan) is only 311 KB which seems considerably smaller than the 500-600 KB of previous MVPS versions.
But 2 other knowledgeable users of a Hosts File manager replicated my experience. I wonder if these managers have been hacked? Is there some place I could upload my Hosts File for verification?

I'm seeing this in several places, Joe - I don't know why. As to your question if the third-party apps are providing the correct information, they are not. I've posted to a few sites that the current version is March 30 but will be updated shortly. Yes, the file is slightly lighter than previous but still weighs in at 602 kb.
Please note that I am not subscribed to any posts due to subscription issues which could not be resolved, if you post back to a reply or post of mine, be patient, I will get to it.
Thanks.

Thanks siljaline
I will stop using HostsMan, and have re-installed the March 30 version from MVPS.

You're welcome, Joe ! Don't let me discourage anyone from using third-party Hosts fetching and edit tools :emotion-35: I have personally never seen any merit since I use a Hosts Editor as per the HOSTS FAQ
