SVCHOST.EXE USING UP ALL MY CPU MEMORY!!! - ARRGH!

Question

Hello,

I use Windows XP Home edition, but there is a serious problem with it. There are several svchost.exe programs running whenever my computer boots up, which is not a problem in and of itself except that these svchost programs are using up 100% of my CPU memory. The problem started about a month and a half ago, but I have had this computer for about a year. I have researched online about possible viruses that could have attached themselves to the program and found out about the blaster worm, but I determined, after much virus searching using Nortan, AVG, and McAffee, that it is not on my computer. I then conducted further research and found out how to look into what types of programs are running under svchost. Msconfig, regedit, jv16 Power Tools, hijackthis, and tasklist have all been very helpful, however, there is something fishy going on with my computer because when I open msconfig or regedit, these programs automatically close after about 5 or 10 seconds. It is almost like there is a virus in svchost that doesn’t want me finding it. I have however been successful using hijackthis and tasklist, which are pasted below. Please, I ask that anyone familiar with this problem take a look at what I found and tell me of anything that I can delete, or tell my computer to not use. I would be grateful for any assistance.

Hey...to anyone who is having these problems...after much more searching, and a few more online scans...I found my problem. It is the abobot.t worm virus (scvhost.exe NOT svchost.exe...but it will attach itself to svchost.exe) and the sdbot worm virus (winhlpp32.exe). I scanned my computer using the houscall.antivirus.com free online scan...then deleted those files with it. Also, if you search for those worm viruses online, there will be a couple of windows security update patches that you should download and install. OMG...it is so nice to have my computer back to normal. I can actually do stuff now...hurray!

Anyway...anyone having svchost.exe CUP memory problems, check out that online scan and those viruses...Those viruses started up about mid September...when I started having problems...nice to know finally what the problem was and to be rid of it. Good luck with all of your virus problems and happy holidays...

Oh...also, I think McAfee picked up the virus as bla.exe, and I deleted it then, but deleting it manually didn't work or it came back or something. So, make sure you delete it with the houscall.antivirus freescan, and if you get your computer working...start building your defenses to kill it if it tries to come back!

That being so, you also have a huntbar infection, and possably others, as you have made changes to your system could you post a fresh hijackthis log for me to check over.
