Raccoon Infostealer

U.S. prosecutors unveiled a database of ~50 million unique credentials stolen in a malware scheme. The Racoon Infostealer malware is sold as a service (MaaS) to criminals on the Dark Web. It’s been active since 2018 and stolen credentials including email address, identification numbers, bank account info, and cryptocurrency info from >2 million people globally.

The US FBI created a free online tool to see if your credentials were stolen in this scheme. Enter your email address in the search box on the portal and click Submit.

You'll receive an email if that email address is in the Infostealer database currently possessed by law enforcement. The confirmation email supplies additional information, resources and links. NOTE: Infostealer may have stolen personal data such as financial info without stealing an email address, so always keep an eye on your financial accounts, etc...

The perpetrator was arrested in Europe and has been charged with multiple crimes in the US...
