Dont think thats the problem. Nero was never installed on my other computer and it still appears there.

In that case, I would follow the instructions posted here and post a HJT logfile in the Special Interest-HJT forum.

It is definitely related to nero software.
Took the tick mark out of msconfig and the computer restarted.
Checked msconfig and there was no tick mark there.
Then i placed my nero disc in my burner and the splash screen came on.
Exited without doing anything.
Checked msconfig and the tick mark was back.
Never saw that happen before .
windows 2000 and windows 98 disc were explored and nothing was put in msconfig.
I placed the nero disc in another computer without installing and the same thing happened.
Any ideas why it would do that.

I don't use Nero, but a lot of software from cd's will try to insinuate themselves into
your msconfig start-up. I would just uncheck it, and ignore it. Sounds benign.

believe now that that it controls the auto run of the cd

i like to keep my startup clean  and check msconfig regulalry.

yes, i just got a sony cd rw drive with nero and after install of s/w i have NWEReboot there as well...

Does it do any good? Is the verdict to leave it start up each reboot?
