Must have had virus. McAfee found issues and fix. My Pictures, Music, Documents hidden.

Must have had virus. McAfee found issues and fix. My Pictures, Music, Documents hidden. I did go and select to show hidden file. When I go to look at them they show somewhat grayed out, but can open. Music plays etc. But still seem to be in a hidden state. Picasa will not pull the pics in as it should as well. Even my IE favorites are not shown. But when I go to add one back it shows it exits.

How to I get this back to a normal state.

Thanks for any advice and steps you can give me.

Try running this program, but it will unhide EVERYTHING -- even files that are supposed to be hidden -- so  remember to go back and please rehide protected system files when you are finished running it.   http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/unhide.exe

For Windows 7, it depends on your version, but this is what I see for Windows 7 Pro:
Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button > clicking Control Panel > clicking Folder Options.

    Click the View tab.

Under Advanced settings: Check: Hide Protected Operating System (Recommended) > Apply >OK

You did not give your operating system, or I would have included more instructions. Basically, you will be hiding protected system files. You will see that option.

To do this in Windows XP: Go to Start>Search and at the top select Tools>Folder Options
Select the View tab
Display the contents of system folders
Show hidden files and folders
Check: Hide protected operating system files
Click on Apply.

I hope this helps.
