Let's keep in mind that Edge (Chromium) may also be using Chrome extensions. So it's important to realize that some of these can be problematic (and should be avoided) for Edge users as well.
On a separate issue, consider that extensions add "bloat" to a browser, generally causing it to run slower. So one should be judicious in choosing extensions that are important or useful. By "important", I mean ones that can enhance the browser's security. For example, I have added u-Block Origin and MalwareBytes Browser Guard to my Edge browser. [I *had" added HTTPS Everywhere, but has been rendered obsolete by an Edge setting which automatically takes care of this.]
As for "useful", that's a matter of individual choice, typically to enhance one's productivity: if there's a particular website you frequent regularly, which offers an add-on that helps navigate that site, it's something to consider. Personally, I haven't found any such add-on.
