housecall trend micro
This is about the Housecall Trend Micro. The Java Console gives this mesaage 2006-05-07 17:44:43.984 SEVERE [java:hc.Config] Failed to verify domain "http://housecall65.trendmicro.com/housecall/ui-cached/html/default/banner.xml?locale=en_US&impl=applet/html/java", HouseCall Server rejected!
How do I fix that?
I was always able run Housecall Trend Micro up until few days ago or so.

What version of Java are you running?
The newer version is 1.5, the older version 1.42 has had some conflicts with domain verification

Theres nothing wrong with that. I tend to think it's a Java issue, if Trend cannot verify your domain, then Trend won't run. Unfortunitly I'm not that much of an authority on Java. I be glad to ask a couple of others on the forum and see if they know of a solution, if you'd like, or you can post your problem on the Java forum.

Are you having any other problems, or any that would leave you to believe you need an online scan?

Amaier0727:
I can confirm that TM Housecall no longer works for me either, with the Java console giving the same error message you posted. I too have the latest JRE.
One workaround is to check the "I want to use another kernel" option, and select the HC kernel rather than the Java. But it is slow as molasses, and apparantly will take hours. (I killed it after 20 minutes)

At least it isn't just me! It can't be. :/
What is up with Java! lol I tried the other route too and choose the second option.

Hey joe,
You were one of the ones I was going to ask about this :smileyvery-happy:
If you find a solution, I'd love to hear about it. I'm going to post this at another forum too
thanks

I doubt it- it's the same company. In the past, I've always used the Europe site for my scans, since I found it faster. And it switched from activeX scans to java scans quite awhile before the US site did. Probably the US site has a coding issue.

My Trend Micro House Call page cancels out when I click the FULL system scan. Why does that do that?
So I have to select individual folders/files and Luckily my computer is on my desktop so I can scan my computer still. It's just I wanna know why it does that when I click complete scan.
Does it ever happen to anyone else or is it me?
