Annoying Install when starting program

I know this may not be a Virus/Spyware problem but the boys on the MS OS forun suggested that somebody here may be able to help with this particular problem.

I am runnning Eset NOD 32 av and Mawarebytes on demand. Nothing untoward revealed after deep scans.

Here is a link to my original forum post which oulines the problem:

Hooray, done it at last. When I first ran the Windows Cleanup Installer utility I could not see Roxio anywhere in the list of installs. However, I decioded to try it again today and found in the list an item listed as All Users 10.1.125 with no name by it to identify it. I thought that this could be the Roxio 10.1 installer and decided to remove it anyway. Sure enough it was the right thing to do.and resolved my problem.

Thanks to everybody for sticking with me on this one.

Hi again,

What we suggested is that you refer to the list of malware removal forums at the top of the Virus & Spyware Forum.

Otherwise, you could try posting on a malware removal forum. While it may not be malware, perhaps they will be able to tell what is activating that. There is a list of forums at the top of Dell's Virus & Spyware Forum.

Give SpywareInfoForums a try. The link is posted with the others above.

The Windows Cleanup Installer Utility was retired because there were problems with it. Where did you find it? Or did you end up using Microsoft's FixIt  instead?

I'm glad it worked for you, but as mentioned above there were some problems with the utility in the past. I try to avoid downloading from CNET if possible.  I suppose it depends on how desperate we are. It's good to know that you had success without any new issues.
