64-bit OS Virus Removal Programs
Are there any free anti-virus programs that run on Vista 64-bit OS and that are free?
Also is the MCAfee Security Center that comes with the 32-bit Vista for the XPS M1530 compatible with 64-bit?
can you give links
Thanks,
Marcos

Avira's free AntiVir Personal supports Windows XP x64 Edition and 64 bit Vista:

Alwil's free avast! Home Edition also fully supports the 64 bit Windows platform:

http://www.avast.com/eng/x64.html
http://www.avast.com/eng/system-requirements-avast-home.html
Both of these free AVs I have used (although not with Vista nor 64 bit), and can recommend either without reservation, based on the experience I have had with XP, and what many of the regulars report in this board. Grisoft's AVG Free AV also supports Vista x64, but frankly is not an AV I can recommend, for several reasons.
Sorry I can't answer your McAfee question.

Hi marcoshid,
Just to add, in relation to your question about McAfee and Vista 64, the answer is yes, McAfee products are fully compatible with Vista 64bit systems.

I reinstalled the CD's I received and it went under the x86 in Program Files. Do I need to get an update?
Thanks,
