Question about ViPR controller 3.5 integration with RecoverPoint 5.x

I need your support for an issue in ViPR controller ver 3.5 integration with RecoverPoint 5.x, being faced by one of my customer in India.

Customer is running ViPR controller from past two years, this year we upgraded ViPR controller to 3.5 & included replication also to it.

Customer environment at Primary site consists of a Unity 400F & VNX 5400 virtualized under VPLEX VS6 all managed by ViPR Controller, the DR site also has a Unity 400F & VNX 5400 virtualized under VPLEX VS2. Replication across both sites is using RecoverPoint Gen6 appliances running RP version 5.5 & VPLEX splitter.

Initially when ViPR was upgraded and RP Gen6 implemented along with VPLEX at that time all versions i.e RP 5.X versions was supported (Note with RPA Gen-6 minimum RP version is 5.X).

After initial implementation functionality of ViPR with VPLEX and RP worked fine for Nine number of production LUNs.

However after 9th LUN it started failing and when the SR was logged it was told that RP version and ViPR version doesn’t support and hence creation of VPLEX protected LUN with RP replication is not supported. However same worked fine for Nine Number of LUNs.

Later because of DR Drill remaining CG’s were configured where we created Local LUN via VIPR and manually added them in RP for replication.

Now customer want to expand the existing LUNs

  1. LUNs which were initially created with ViPR and are under Replication also failing to expand.
  2. LUNs which were created by ViPR however manually added to RP also needs lots of manual intervention for expansion.

Need to know if anyone has faced a similar issue & got any workaround & when can we expect integration between ViPR 3.5 & RP5.5?

Thank You for any help!

According to the latest vipr-c support matrix (22b), RP 5.x is not supported with any version of Vipr-c.

Multiple issues are being investigated (https://coprhd.atlassian.net/browse/COP-30623) and I do not know when this pairng of sw will be supported.
