Necessary to Fabric Manager when EMC ViPR configuration?
Hi,
I'm configuring ViPR 3.6 in a VMware ESXi environment.
My environments:
- VMware ESXi 6.5
- ViPR vAPP 3.6
- UnityVSA 4.2.1
I learned from the manual that the configuration procedure is as follows.
1. Add storage systems.
2. Add data protection systems
3. Add fabric managers and SAN networks.
4. Add hosts and clusters.
5. Add vCenters and ESX / ESXi clusters.
Is it necessary to set up three "fabric managers"? Is there a way to alternative it?
Thanks...

You need to discover the connectivity in VIPR, so VIPR knows where hosts and arrays are connected to.
That's also true if you don't want VIPR to do the zoning for you.
Alternative is to create manually the networks (fabrics) but then you'll have to add manually all needed ports.
