Cannot Uninstall ViPRcli - Installation Directory invalid
Hi
I am trying to upgrade the ViPR cli version on a Linux VM we used as a dedicated ViPR cli host. When i try run the uninstall command on the existing install and put in the install directory of /opt/storageos/cli it returns with a message: /opt/storageos/cli/bin is not a VIPR cli installation directory.
I am a bit confused by this because the installation directory as detailed in the viprcli.profile is /opt/storageos/cli as you can see here on the first line.
I was wondering if anyone has seen this before and got any thoughts on how to get round this so i can run the uninstall and then install the new version?
Thanks

I am pretty sure. You need to point to the directory to which you installed from. When you downloaded the ViPR CLI zip and unzipped, it created a directory, and you ran the setup from there. That is the directory you need to use.
Also, just a thought, I do not see why you can just move the current install out of the way and install the latest version. I have multiple versions running on one node all the time. I do use Windows though.

From the looks of it when viprcli was installed originally they followed the process in the Installation, Upgrade & Maintenance Document
So i have tried pointing the uninstall to both the directory that i believe viprcli is install in (/opt/storageos/cli) and it fails, also tried various other combinations including the directory they originally downloaded the zip file to and ran the install from (/root/cli/temp).
Even tried looking at the python script (setup.py) and trying to identify what it is doing and all i can find is that whatever directory i enter it appends /bin to it which again would suggest that the directory i put in is the correct one. If i look in /opt/storageos/cli/bin there is a viprcli directory with all the commands in.
I was considering if i could just trash it all manually and start again from scratch somehow as well..
