Fix for CVE-2011-3389 on a Dell Unity 380 XT

Hello,

Our vulnerability scanners have detected CVE-2011-3389 on a Dell Unity 380 XT device we support. This appears to be related to a Windows setting however, searching the support files on Dell, I can find that the Unity CLI Client can be used to check for the listed protocols, but when I try and install the client, it is not working properly as it uses an older version of MS Visual C++ that can not be downloaded during the installation process. Is there another method that can be used to get to the command line of this device in order for me to check and correct the listed vulnerabilities?

Thanks again. I was able to review the installation log files to find that the issue I was having was that the utility required MS Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable SP1 and could not access the link. I had to search and manually find this executable and install it before the Unisphere CLI utility would launch properly. Once I had this fixed, the utility worked after finding the proper syntax to get to my device. Thanks for the added resources and this can be marked as fixed.

Hi Sam,

Thanks for the help. Is there a working Unisphere CLI client for a Unity 380 XT device running UnityOS version 5.1.2.0.5.007? All of the guides direct me to this client but the one on the support page does not work or install properly on a Windows 10 desktop system and I really need to get to the command line of the Unity device to change this security protocol.

Hello Ricky J,

The download is an 32bit download and should install without any issues.  Just to confirm that you are using this download link https://dell.to/3flRU1P
