Dell/EMC SSD |3.84 TB | SAS 2.5" |MZ-ILT3T8A| Blocked status on Dell R430 server
Hello,
I got some drives from a Unity array model SSD Dell/EMC |3.84 TB | SAS 2.5" |MZ-ILT3T8A|
I tried to mount them in a Dell R430 server. The disks show up as "blocked". I have updated the firmware on the Raid Perc H730 mini controller but it is still the same.
The disks have a block size of 520b which is maybe the only thing I can see that could block?
If you have any solutions, I thank you in advance.

Right, that drive is only for Unity XT 380, 480, 680 and 880.

Hello.
This kind of behavior is expected when using drives that are not certified or unsupported model for the product, kindly try to upgrade the firmware of the Raid controller and keep us posted

Thank you for your feedback. The disks are Dell EMC disks so they must be compatible.
They were just on a unity storage and now in a server.
The only difference I can see is that they have a block size of 520b.
As mentioned I already have updated the firmware on the Raid Perc H730 mini controller but it is still the same.

Hi,
Thanks for your question. What is the part number? Mostly likely it is not a compatible drive. Servers and storage do not share the same drive firmware.
Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Hello,
Here is the P/N MZILT3T8HALS-00C3
it means that it is impossible to flash officially the micro program of the disk to make it compatible with the server?
