Venue 8 pro Atom Z3000 update crashes out system

During the process of downloading the latest chipset update from the Dell Support site, the screen on my Venue 8 Pro, went completely blank and I am unable to recover.  Any suggestions?

My HW: Venue 8 Pro; 5830 chipset

System bios: A.14

OS; WIN 10

Update: 5830_Chipset_Driver_14P9K_WN32_603.9600.1000.61123_A06.EXE

I forgot to mention was unable to turn the system off during the blackout.  However, I was able to resolve the problem by allowing the battery to drain completely and recharging it. The system was then able to boot and the OS was accessible.
