Dell Venue 7840 Android 5.1 open source components/stock firmware files
I'm looking for the stock Android 5.1 firmware for the Dell Venue 7840, and also the associated open source components. My understanding of the GNU GPL is that Dell is obligated to release these. I only found this: https://opensource.dell.com/releases/Venue_8_7840_Moorefield/developer-edition/5.X/ which doesn't contain the latest Android 5.1 versions. Either way, I'm also looking for the binary firmware or OTA patch file which I need to recovery one such device. I successfully installed the linked Android 5.0 image, but I can't update it to 5.1, probably because the OTA servers aren't available anymore. Where can I find this firmware?

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

Hi, thank you for your reply. I can't give you a service tag because the label has been lost and I can't check it in the settings of the device which is exactly why I need the stock firmware recovery files.
It is a Dell Venue 8 7840 "moorefield". I can tell you that the device is most certainly out of warranty though.
