OpenManage v3.3 and DCOM error 10010

Just finished installing OpenManage v3.3 on a brand new Dell PE6600 running W2K-SP2 and nothing else. After rebooting the server I get the following DCOM error (please see below); I have been working with Dell's software engineering group but so far no resolution for the issue. Anyone else encoutering the same problem with OpenManage v.3.3. I have also tried installing v.3.2.2 and even rebuilding the box as recommended by Dell, but i still get same DCOM error, any assistance will be greatly appreciate it. PE6600 Bios is A08, ESM A20, and Perc 3DC's are running latest firmware 1.74.

Just wanted to add a "me too", have the same problem on a 2650 with W2K-SP2. Pretty sure it has to do with OpenManage as the registry shows that string 9B9A80E0-A9C0-11D2-B5E1-006008187232  as related to OpenManage.

Hi,

A google search for "did not register with DCOM within the required timeout" indicated this may be a permissions issue. Let me know if this article helps.

I've installed Open Manage V.3.5 on a PowerEdge 4600 W2K Server w/ SP4.  Getting the exact same error.

Waiting on Dell's Software support as of now.

The error message is generated by the VXCMD component of array manager, and will only appear once on startup. It will not affect the functionality of array manager.

One method I have found helps is to run the DCOMCNFG utility,  highlight the VXCMD service (or GUID) on the applications tab, click on the properties button, and go to the Endpoints tab, Click on add and select Connection-orientated tcp/ip.
This does not work in all cases but I expect a fix to be incorporated in array manager 3.5 when thats released.

Thanks for the reply.  Tried that but with no luck.  Still get the DCOM Event 10010.  Have an open incident with support that I hope can get cleared up tomorrow.  Any other ideas will be greatly welcomed.

Thanks again.
