ITAssistant and Open Manage 4.3 - Need Help Please
Hi All,
I am trying to setup ITAssistant and Open Manage 4.3 to report on servers health.
I have ITAssistant on a GX270 and Open Manage 4.3 on a PE4400.
I can get my "Device Summary" information ok (Well it shows the server info)
I can get the "ESM" information ok (It shows all the ESM errors/OKs)
Though I am struggling with the "Alert Logs"
The only alerts I get in the "Alert Logs" in ITAssistant are if the Server is up or Down. If I check OpenManage on the server itself, there are heaps of events in the Alert Log.
What might I be doing wrong, that I am only getting Up or Down alerts in ITAssistant.
My next query is on ESM Logs, how do I get it to email me an alert from the ESM log? After playing around all afternoon from what I can see it will only send an email/alert if the alert is in the Alert Log. I cant find how to email from the ESM logs.
Any suggestions here would be most welcome.
Finally what is the SNMP Root password option in Open Manage Perferences? Do I need to change this? What does it do?

That's what I'm wondering too, what's the default SNMP root pwd. This is for read/write access to the SNMP mibs on your server. Say you want to change the hostname, find the proper oid and change it IF you have the root pwd for read/write.
