idrac DCIM roadmap
For system inventory, I currently use WSMAN to the idrac to retrieve DCIM view information. These DCIM class are examples: DCIM_MemoryView, DellDCIM_NICView, DellDCIM_PowerSupplyView, DellDCIM_PhysicalDiskView.
I do not use WSMAN for much more than inventory of the DCIM view classes.
According to idrac release notes, WSMan access to the idrac is deprecated in favor of Redfish. The iSM agent however replicates these same DCIM classes from the idrac to the Windows OS at WMI namespace root/cimv2/dcim.
I would like to know the roadmap for the DCIM classes. WSMAN shows as deprecated but it seems iSM DCIM sync to the OS is alive and supported.
I found https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_solutions_int/esuprt_solutions_int_solutions_resources/enterprise-solution-resources_white-papers100_en-us.pdf which helps a little but I would really like the DCIM class format and structure to persist into the future.

@nadogmoney WSMAN will be "removed" in iDRAC10/17th Generation. You will not be able to use WSMAN and WMI.
DCIM view classes will not be supported. @nadogmoney WSMAN is supported on iDRAC8 (13th Generation servers) and iDRAC9 (14G, 15G and 16G servers). No active development is planned. Only high-severity defect fixes may be supported.
WSMAN is planned to be deprecated in the next generation of servers. Only Redfish will be supported in future generations.

Hi @nadogmoney,
I can't find any documentation or notification on DCIM usage roadmap. The information is not visible to the social support here. It's probably one of the suggested way is to raise a ticket by the customer using the system service tag and reach engineering to find out more information. Maybe Ajay's reply may find some shed light to your question.

Will WSMAN still be deprecated but working in idrac10 / 17G+ or will it be removed? I don't really care about WSMAN vs RedFish but I do care about DCIM view classes. Will DCIM view classes still be available in the future? I am linking WSMAN and DCIM in my head but maybe this is not true. Maybe DCIM view classes can be achieved with Redfish.
I currently dump many DCIM view classes and import that data into an server inventory system. There are things by Dell also linked to DCIM: iSM WMI classes in Windows OS, racadm hwinventory, etc.

Thank for clarifying. Converting from DCIM to Redfish is going to be a lot of work for me but at least I now know when to expect the change.
