How to link Dell OME to create a support ticket
Hello,
I have a fully installed and working OME implemented. Am not sure if this is possible, however i just read somewhere that, we could link OME to Dell support for auto ticket creation.
If this is possible, It would reduce our followup time with reduces downtime of the servers.
Also, i would like to know if any cost involved for this service.
Like to know more about it.. appreciate your responses.

Yes, indeed it is. That proactive support service is called Dell SupportAssist and is a plug-in for OME. It is a free service for ProSupport Customers.
Here are some helpful links to show how it works and how to request for the plug-in.

Please let us know if that helps.

I have deployed the Dell support assist plug from the OME bundle i had.
Also, configured all the setting and tested connections and it works.
However, in Devices tab I see collection status as "Installing collection tool" after entering credentials and waiting for 3-4 hours also.
Please help me to get through this and FTP is restricted in our network.
Is it a must to use FTP for this server ?
thanks in advance

Raj,
Sorry for the delay. Were you able to get past the "Installing collection tool" status?

Thanks for your followup, Am still struck at that level, all i see is the message "Collection tool installation is unsuccessful". I have setup the credentials and also i have observed that support assist update has failed.
appreciate your help on this.

We still have not been able see why you're getting this issue. FTP is not required so that shouldn't be a problem. Have you already double checked the proxy settings?
See page. 5 of the guide.
