DRAC 4 - problem with password reset
Hello,
My company bought used/refurbished Dell R200 server with DRAC 4/p card. Now I am trying to configure/reset password for DRAC 4 (fw v1.75 A01) in server. Server running Win 2008 x64 std .
At first the seller forgot to put with card ribbon cable, so I had to do it myself after I got it... Back to story :) at boot I have configured DRAC (Ctrl+D ; set IP & DNS - I did not seen "password reset" option), also I have configured BMC to IP tunnel too (I think this is not important).
Next, after I had windows running nicely (WU, net.FW + basic soft ; I did this in meantime waiting for ribbon cable). Once I got cable, I configured DRAC at boot time, then I went to http interface and got login error (for root and calvin). In meantime I had to grab drivers for DRAC from dell because win couldn't find them :( .
So, I installed OMSA ManagedNode x64 (v7.4.0.2) and DRAC tools (installer didn't found my card also...). Now server boot time got tripled :/ (don't know what OMSA did/or doing at boot...), but web interface OMSA works nice after server boot up, I can see HDD status, sensors, voltages - almost what I need, but nothing about DRAC (only BMC).
Started Administrator cmd and typed:
C:\Windows\system32>racadm racresetcfg
ERROR: Unable to perform requested operation
And:
C:\Windows\system32>racadm getsysinfo
ERROR: Unable to perform requested operation
So now I think something is not ok, but what? DRAC is broken (saying nicely) or soft can not talk to card...
Can anyone provide some hints?

Hello,
I did extra test (before leaving work), and downloaded OMSA CentOS Live image, and tried from it run racadm - same result so the card must be broken.
Seller decided to replace card because "very likely card is broken". So, now I'm waiting for new card.
If I don't forget, I will post summary :)
--- Summary ---
I got 2 more cards from seller. None of them worked, firmware update found card, updated to latest but racadm didn't want to work :( .
I was packing cards back to give them back to seller but I decided to check once more.... So I put each one card into server and I tried from OMSA Live CentOS run racadm getsysinfo .
I don't know if I should be really happy but one of DRACs answered :), so without hesitation I executed "racadm racresetcfg" and I got no error (happy), then I waited a moment for card to reset and run again getsysinfo but it failed like before, nevertheless now I can log in into web and I changed password.
I suspect the riser board, but the PREC raid card works fine so there might be something off only with this PCI slot where drac is put on. Seller also admitted that he had to specially order riser that allow to install drac4 card.
I consider this as solved :)
Ps. Sorry for my bad English.
