BTW,
Please consider moving this question as-is (no need to recreate) to the proper forum for maximum visibility. Questions written to the users' own "Discussions" space don't get the same amount of attention and questions can go unanswered for a long time.
You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the upper-right. Then search for and select: "Symmetrix Support Forum" which would be the most relevant for this question.

hi jb1980,
Unisphere for VMAX doesn't have engineering mode. Whatever you heard anything about accessing engineering mode. it's redundant for VMAX.
I believe If you have admin access to Unisphere for VMAX, you can do all the administration tasks through UI. For the advanced in-box configuration, your field engineer can help you accessing the Symmwin to dot that.

hi Fenglin Li,
its strange, because i tried that combination which working on unisphere for vnx and on unisphere for vmax will prompt me at engineering mode for password so i am just currious if its not fully implemented functionality from unisphere for vnx, someone have some clue?

Hello jb1980,
Thanks for contacting EMC Support.
Engineering mode was left in Unisphere for VMAX v1.x since the low level code is common from the legacy version of Unisphere (VNX). This has been mentioned in EMC KB169791 (Internal article). This mode was removed in UNIVMAX v8.0 so no need to worry about it.

HelloMohammed,
thank you for explanation, now it sounds more clear to me.
Have a next question see that exporting files in UPV format from Unisphere for VMAX are set of sql files from SPAdb,
is there some approach how to convert them in easy way eg. to sqlite database ? or any other way how to bypass these files from SPA into / converted onto other consolidated DB file ?
Thank you
