Symmcli Error on middle of code upgrade
Folks,
Can anyone help me out for the below error msg in the SYMCLI ?
"EMC:EVTdaemon iFindandOpenGate Failed to open pooled Gatekeeper: The specified array id is not known (XXXXX) "
Scenario:
1. SE was upgraded from 7.3 to 7.6 in the Service Processor
2. Installation was successful
3. when i issuing any commands it giving this error
4. No gatekeeper configured in the frame
5. Daemon service is running fine
I am in middle of upgrading VMAX code from 5875 to 5876

Saubash, you should never attempt to upgrade Solutions Enabler on the service processor, it's not a good idea, a special version comes bundled with symmwin and SP code that allows some commands to run on here without the need for GK. You should contact EMC support or your CE to reinstall the microcode if this doesn't work you may need to reimage the service processor.

You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the upper-right. Then search for and select: "Symmetrix Support Forum".

You said the SE was upgraded on Service processor? How did you upgrade the SE? Did you just copy the executable from powerlink and upgraded it? If yes then its a wrong procedure of upgrading the SE on SP.

Can you tell me what need to be done now?
1. can we simply go for CODE EXTRACTION? or do we need to rollback to the earlier version (7.3) and then extract the code

Also where can i get the procedure for re-imaging the SP?

You can try the code extraction for 76 code and the correct symcli should be installed as part of it. if this doesn't work open an SR with PSE lab for options from engineering.

Paul E Martin is right. Go ahead with your procedure. If it does not work then you need to reimage the service processor.

Extracted the code and ran the code load. ISSUE FIXED
