SMI-S vs Unisphere for VMAX REST API for performance reporting
Hi,
Q: Given an environment with many VNX, DMX-3, VMAX and VG8 devices which API would be better suited for Performance and event reporting for block storage (SMI-S or VMAX Rest API) and why ?
I had seen a post on this list steering users away from SMI-S due to some limitation but it didn't get into details.
I have been looking at the Unisphere for VMAX REST API and the Celerra API as an option to collect performance stats and create dashboard views or resources that integrate within our NMS environment. I selected this because a REST API is familiar to many in my circle working on this project and seems to provide more than enough information for a NMS.
