You need to get the verbose output of the errpt with the -a flag then decode the sense data to understand what the errors are about. There is a good how-to article here:

I see that the issue is with just one device .. hdisk5 .
Copy paste the first two Sense code lines from the errpt -a log so that we can find the issue

Hi,

First you have to check errpt -a output. Then check the sense data, which are a bunch of numbers under the error description.

Example of sense data:

0A00 2A00 01BC AC00 0000 0804 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0102 0000 7000 0B00

0000 000A 0000 0000 4400 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000

0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000

0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000

0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000

0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000

0000 0000 0000 0000 00E1 000B 1AC0 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0083 0000

0000 0030 001D

i made the most important part of the sense data to be check in bold as you can see above.

You can decode the numbers using the Host Connectivity Guide for IBM AIX page 239.

Also, I have to tell you that I chose these sense data above as an example because that would be the most probable sense data you will see, and to make it short these means "Internal Target Error" which most probably an Array-related issue, so you should contact EMC support for that, or start by checking this KB:

https://emc--c.na5.visual.force.com/apex/KB_BreakFix_1?id=kA1700000001LQL&popup=true

or due to a firmware issue if you are using IBM FC cards, the following KB explain it more:

Hello Koppuru,

If you are still experiencing these error messages please open a service request with the software teams.

If PP is installed open it with the PP for AIX team.

Please make sure you are using the correct reserve policy for the environment.
