SupportAssist stuck at downloading drivers

I have a XPS 15 9570  and when I'm running the SupportAssist's driver update, it stuck at downloading. It gives no error whatsoever, just displays the download screen for hours, till I shut down my laptop. Any idea what can I try?

Hi,

did this works in the past?

Did you verfy that your Firewall allow the download?

Did you try Update SupportAssist Tool via Settings?

Hi, I'm having the same problem. I've even tried downloading supportasssis again and reinstalling it but that didn't help. Mine is on version [3.2.1.94], which is supposed to be the latest one.

I've downloaded the drivers from dells website and after that I've successfully managed to install them.

Odd thing... Tried a few days ago to update the SA from within the app, when it said so and received a file called SupportAssistLauncer... I followed a link today, from another post here on the forum to get the SA to test de-/re-installation and this one is called SupportAssistInstaller....

Both are the same size, I don't know if they have any other differences though, but might be worth checking out...

I'm having the same issue, running SA 3.2.2

I tried renaming the ..-white to New-Dell-Logo.png as described in another post but it didn't help. This is the first time I have problems with SA. I've ran it several times over the years.

It didn't seem to make any difference. Same problem still. I'll have to dl the drivers manually from the site.

I had the same problem.  It seems that SupportAssist was stuck infinitely in Prepare stage for the Get Drivers and Downloads task.  What seems to have fixed it for me was to go into the Add / Remove Program control panel.  Navigate to the SupportAssit app and select "..." to activate the drop down menu, and select "Advanced Options".  Scroll down to the Reset section. I ran "repair" option.  After that, the next time I ran SupportAssist, it no longer was stuck in that infinite Prepare stage. I don't know what the repair option does, but from what I observed, it certainly does look like it repaired something that kept SupportAssist  hung. At this time, my speculation would be that some application cached data got removed as part of the repair operation. Does anyone know more detail on what the repair option is actually doing?
