New SupportAssist is Ugly (and Its Mother Dresses it Funny)

After a couple tries, I got the latest SupportAssist update (to version 4.0) to install on my Windows 10 Vostro 15, and I'm a little sorry I did. I'm not a fan of the pastel interface with the unnecessary scenic photo and slide show. It also takes more steps to find where they've hidden "I want to check a specific piece of hardware [Select "Support" on the home screen menu, then look for the "Test My Hardware" square (1 of 6) on the tools page, then burrow down through the actions tree to "I Want to Troubleshoot My PC" then "I Want to Check a Specific Piece of Hardware" to (finally) to the hardware list.] An entirely unnecessary number of steps to get to where you want to be.

It saddens me that software developers these days don't seem to know when to leave well enough alone. The GUI wasn't broken, so they shouldn't have tried to fix it. Not everyone shares their sense of aesthetics. Can anyone suggest how I can roll back the latest update? And Dell, please give us back the plain, simple interface of the previous version.

Thank you.

I also do not like it and regret the moment I updated the supportassist. I have no idea why they would go and break a perfectly fine and working system. Now it is pure trash. Bloatware. A waste of space.

I have to agree. Version 4.0 is just loaded with bugs. Dell needs to send out a quick fix or a way to rollback the update.

This is not the first time that SA is causing issues. And not the last time either I'm afraid.

Why is it, Dell Support Assist Updates messes everything up?  Dell has joined the ranks of Microsoft for unintended consequences.  If it's not broke, don't fix it!
