How to start a career in Storage?

Hi, I am working as a MS SQL Server DBA for the last 2 years. I want to switch my platform to Storage Technology(SAN).

Please tell me how to start with and suggest me any entry level certifications.

Hi Immadibh, I suggest you to first understand the basics of SAN and NAS (Eg - What is SAN and why it is being used? What is NAS and why it is being used?). Also you can undergo the Storage technology foundation certification as a start for entry level in Storage.

E20-001 is for a beginer to understand the Storage technologies. Both Testing and Administration has very good future and interesting challenges. Now its your turn to decide which one to opt

I recommend purchasing this book.  It is a few years old but can really help you build a foundation in the storage world.

I still find myself looking back in the book to reference things.
