What is the difference between DB Export and DB Backup in ECC

I'm getting ready to run a controlled migration to a different server running ECC 6.1. Naturally, the first step is to get a decent backup. My question is exactly as my title states, what is the difference between DB Export and DB Backup in the ECC 6.1 menu list?
