XPS ONE 24 HARD DRIVE DON'T BOOT!

Ordered a new xps one 24 on 11/2/08, recieved it on 11/13/08.

I read the setup guide, plugged it in,turned it on, WON'T BOOT !

P.O.S.T SAYS no hard drive.Called tech support they determined that hard drive was bad.We will send someone out with new drive in 48 hours, waited 5 days called back was told hard drive is on back order and it will be 4-5 more days.I said ok but I want some sort of compinsation; money off, free blu-ray disc, free softwear ect, something for my trouble. Was told a flat NO,"we do not do that!"

It's now 12/2/08 and I still have a 40 pound paper weight sitting in my house that no one can use and by the way warranty is running, ask them to reset warranty start date to after they get the computer up and running was told no."warranty starts the day it leaves from dell!"And by the way when tech shows up to put in hard drive he only installs the drive and drive they are sending me is blank,"you will have to install all the softwear your self."

has anyoneelse had this much trouble with dell? I have bought 3 computers from dell in 6 years all over $2,000 dollars I think I deserve more respect than they are giving me!

The drive in question is a 750GB seagate. I was told by one tech support person that they were having trouble with this drive, is onyoneelse? I should tell you if this is not resolved to my satisfaction this will be my last dell and i'll be switching to IMAC!
