Partition tables errors and reformating
hello,
first, excuse my bad english but i'm from tunisia and we dont speack english (sorry :( ).
so, i had made 3 partition for linux, (boot swap etc..) and after rebooting all partitons tools cant read my hard drive partitions, so i cant create or edit my partition just i can see the size of my DD (i have a dell Dimension 4700)
now, i have just one solution to install linux, it's to recreate the partition table, installing windows xp and after installing linux.
the matter is that i have a partition called Dell restore, and i'm afraid, if i recreat the papartition table, all partitions will be erased and after that, all data in dell restore will be erased.
so it will cause a booting probleme? or i can reformat and installing xp and after, when i use dell CD's it will recreat a new Dell partition?
Thx and plz help me because i must repare my computer quickly.
thank you

The Dell restore is there to setup your system back to factory settings. Don't mess with that partition.
Read this article about the Dell restore partition.

Power the computer on.
When the black screen with the Dell Logo in the top blue bar appears, press and hold the Ctrl key on the keyboard, then press the F11 key and release them both at the same time. The Dell PC Restore by Symantec window should appear.
NOTE: Only press the keys one time, if you press them more than once you will receive a keyboard error and will have to start the process over.
Click the Restore button. A caution message appears advising that all data will be lost.
Click the Confirm button. The progress window appears, and when the restore is complete, the message "The system recovery process was successful" should appear.
Click the Finish button and the computer should restart.
Note. if you wish to save any data, then back it up, prior to using the above.
