Error 4450 while attempting to burn audio/music CD's via iTunes.
I have no problem reading audio/music CD's into my iTunes library.
However, recently I am simply unable to burn the same (or others) back onto blank CD-R's . This used to work no problem until a few weeks ago. One or two songs into the burn, I get Error 4450 (0x00001162) and it kicks out the CD-R rendering it useless.
I tried everything via the iTunes forum (this apparently is a very common error!) - slower burn speeds, audio CD vs. MP3, different CD-R disk manufacturers, cleaning disks, updating to the latest Windows XP and iTunes versions. Still the same error code...
I am at my wits end!
I have: Dell Dimension 8200, Windows XP Home Edition service Pack 2 (Build 2600), iTunes 6.0.2.23, CD Driver 2.0.4.3, CD Driver 2.0.3.2 (although I only have one CD-ROM drive?), CD-ROM NEC NR-7800A
Assistance would be greater appreciated.

Hi Snimsno,
Sometimes the filters and/ or drivers can become corrupt.
Click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 12, article 10. Run this, see if it helps, if not, then Section 20, article 3.
Best Regards!
God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do and the eyesight to tell the
difference.

Hi Predator,
Thanks for your assistance and suggestions. Greatly appreciated.
Here's what I've done in attempting to solve my error 4450 when attempting to burn CD-R's using iTunes.
Downloaded latest iTunes with QuickTime. Now have iTunes Version 6.0.3. Same problem, same error 4450.
I reloaded Roxio Easy CD Creater 5.3.5 and it works well. No problems. However, same problem and error 4450 within iTunes.
Following your instructions, I removed the Upper and LowerFilter values with registry editor. Same problem and same error.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the IDE Controller. Again, the same problem and same error.
Hate to ask, but any other suggestions? Thanks, in advance.

Still havng problems with Error 4450 when burning CD-R's!
Have determined that the problem only occurs when burning "audio disk."
No problem if burning as MP3 - except that my stereo CD player doesn't accept MP3 files!
Any suggestions? And yes, I've tried slowing the burn speed, new disks, etc.
