dvd r + w drive
Does anyone know which dvd r + w drive would be best for my computer, i have a cd r + w now i would like to upgrade. Plextor has this one http://plextor.com/english/news/press/716SA_pr.htm but i'm not sure if its what i want or need. I dont need cd r + w i alrerady have that, i just need dvd r + w. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Isntthisfun,
Plextor has been getting very good reviews, their 708a & 712a & 712SA. The 716SA is a Serial Interface and unless you added a SATA card, your 4500 does not have this interface, you will need the 716A or 712A.

Thanks Predator, i was looking at 708a but it has cd-rw so i don't think i need that do i, and its a little more expensive.

Hi Isnt,
All DVD burners support writing to CD-R & CD-RW media. As for the 708a being more expensive than the 716a, I would not think so, but honestly I have not checked the prices lately.
