'Disk Read Error' message... help?!

My Inspiron 6000 froze. so i hit it. then turned it off. when i turned it back on it went to a black screen that said:
 
Loading PBR 2... done
 
A disk read error occurred
press crl+alt+delete to restart
 
so i do it and it goes to the same screen again. i keep repeating this and it still goes to the same screen. any idea of what's wrong? did i mess up the harddrive?

Reboot, hit F12 and run Dell diagnostics.
