Create an image backup from my RAID configured hard drive
Back in February 2008 I bought a Dell Dimension 9200 Core 2 Duo 2.66MHz. It came with 2 x 250Gb SATA with dual HDD config Raid 0 Stripe.
So effectively when I access the hard drive I see it as a single 500Gb drive.
Everything is working fine at the moment, but I was thinking I ought to plan for a future disaster.
1. I was thinking about perhaps getting Norton Ghost and use it to create images of my HDD on a monthly basis. Is there anything better than Norton Ghost?
2. As I am using a RAID 0 configuration, if one of the hard drives fails, do I just replace it or would there be any extra configurations I require to do?
3. When I do a directory listing of my drives, I get drive C appearing as Total Size 455Gb with the name OS and then I get drive D appearing as 9.99Gb with the name RECOVERY against it. The system was pre-configured like this by Dell. I assume this "drive D" is a partition of the total 500Gb .
Hope someone can assist me. I am not very familiar with RAID.
