compatible dvd recorders-help!
Can anyone explain to my why my computer says 'no supported dvd recorders were detected on your system' even thought i have a dell dimension 4600 with a DVD R/W. I'm trying to use Roxio to create a DVD.

Make sure you have the latest update for your version. You didn't say what version
of ROXIO you have installed. See here ..........

Be sure to select the correct version of you software, i.e., Platinum or Basic.
Do Not mix the two.

I have roxio cd creator 5. I'm not sure exactly what to upgrade it with. From what I can tell, I should be able to record dvds already but don't understand why its not letting me.

Is your version of Easy CD Creator at Revision 5.3.5?

If not, try updating it to the latest level. The Platinum version
is at the top and the Basic version at the bottom. Do Not mix them.
Also, if you have a Dell installed DVD drive, It will only write to
plus (+) DVD disks.

I have roxio easy cd creator 5. I've updated it with the link you gave me, using the platinum update but it still isn't working!
I have a dvd disk that says dvd +r on the front so I assume thats ok for dell dvd drives? my dvd drive is nec dvd +rw nd 1100a.
